Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?
We recommend booking so we can prepare for you in advance. Walk-ins are welcome at all 3 branches and we'll do our best to see you, though availability varies by day.
How long does an eye test take?
Allow around 20 to 30 minutes for a comprehensive examination. If additional imaging such as an OCT scan is needed, we'll let you know.
How often should I have my eyes tested?
Every 2 years is the general guidance for adults with no existing concerns. Annually if you're over 60, diabetic, wear contact lenses or have a family history of eye conditions. Children should be tested before starting school.
Do you take medical aid?
Yes. We work with a number of selected Zimbabwean medical aid societies. Please bring your card and member details to your appointment and our reception team will assist with the claim.
Can you fit new lenses to my existing frames?
Frames need to be assessed first. Some are not manufactured with lens replacement in mind and the frame's condition, material and fitting all affect whether reglazing is possible. Our lab technician will check yours and advise on what's suitable.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Your current glasses or contact lenses, your medical aid card, and a list of any medication you're taking. If you've had eye tests elsewhere, previous prescriptions are helpful but not essential.
